Disc Golf

I began to disc golf at the age of 21 in 2005 and played my first sanctioned tournament in 2006, The 30th Anniversary Indian Summer Frisbee Festival hosted by the United Flyers Of Sonoma. The next year I joined The UFOS, the first Frisbee club, where I’d be mentored by local pros Brad Armstrong #14692, Rodger Cansler #9073, John Child #17540 & legend of the game Tom McRann #32.   The following year in 2008 I joined the PDGA – PDGA #36581 & In 2009 I volunteered with the UFOS to re-install the Steve Werner Memorial Disc Golf Course at Crane Creek Regional Park in Rohnert Park, CA.  Later that year with the birth of my first son I relocated to the Portland area where I’d become a member of the Stumptown Disc Golf Club & the DGOD crew that flooded a church parking lot every week for years.

I ran a small weekly league at Hornings Hideout called Hole Doubt for a couple years and in 2013 Paavo Stubstad #60679 (a.k.a. Malachyte for Trials folks & PHP to disc golfers) captured video of me throwing two aces in one day.  Later, as a volunteer for the Saint Helens Disc Golf Club, under the guidance of Jared Fischer #51274, I helped design, install, and maintain the McCormick Park Disc Golf Course, in Saint Helens, Oregon est. 2013.

In 2014 Portland was host to The PDGA World Championship. I was approached by Matt Gregoire #28647 the media manager of the PDGA and deputized to post live tweets and Instagram posts for the lead card coverage on the official PDGA accounts all week long. I was entering the scores into PDGAlive.com which gave me a second hand view to some of the best shots thrown that week.

On the final day of the tournament Crazy John Brooks interviewed me on Disc Golf Planet TV

In 2015, I was assistant TD for The Columbia Rediviva PDGA B tier again under Jared Fischer and again at McCormick Park DGC. I also assisted with completing the McCormick Park teesign designs, with the artwork & layout prepared by Jared Fischer.

In 2018 Stumptown DGC asked me to host and TD one of their Annual Stumptown Slosh events which I could not have done without the help of my assistant TD Brian Cole #46301
